Welcome to the nurseries of the Vienna University Children’s Office gGmbH. We highly appreciate your interest.
In our nurseries, children from different countries are looked after. We attach great importance to incorporating cultural diversity into our nurseries’ everyday life.
Registration Information
Children whose parents are involved in the university operations of the University of Vienna or its affiliated companies are given priority.
In particular, the following groups of persons are preferred:
- Employees in a qualification phase: in particular doctorate, (postgraduate) further education, qualification agreement, habilitation, submission of third-party funded projects, etc..,
- New employees at the University of Vienna who did not previously reside in Austria (expats),
- Students in the MA graduation phase.

Infos on the locations
The Vienna University Children’s Office operates five nurseries at three different locations.
- At the Day Care Center Lammgasse (Nursery “Staunemäuse” and “Forscherflöhe”), full-day care is provided for children from 2 years of age until they start school.
- At the Day Care Center Heiligenstädter Straße (Nursery “Uniküken” and “Unispatzen”) full-day care is provided for children from the age of 1,5 until they start school.
- At the Day Care Center Campus (Nursery “Neugierdsnäschen”) half-day care is provided for children from 6 months to 24 months.
